Free Event Series for Women 2024
Details of the upcoming events:
Thursday, 11th January, 1-3 pm:
Wellbeing Talk with Dafiny Alves, MBACP Clinical Supervisor/Counsellor, followed by Arts & Crafts
Between 1-2 pm, Dafiny Alves, MBACP Clinical Supervisor/Counsellor, will present a talk on wellbeing.
From 2-3 pm, we'll engage in crafting activities while enjoying food. All materials are provided free of charge. However, crafting is not compulsory. If you simply wish to join us for a friendly chat, seek signposting support, and enjoy soup, sandwiches, or other refreshments, you are more than welcome.
Thursday 18th January, 1st & 2nd February, 1-3 pm:
Knitting/Crochet Circle
All materials are provided free of charge, and experienced knitters/crocheters are available to offer guidance to beginners. However, knitting/crochet is not compulsory. If you simply wish to join us for a friendly chat, seek signposting support, and enjoy soup, sandwiches, or other refreshments, you are more than welcome.
Thursday 25th January, 15th February, 1-3 pm:
Yoga Class
Between 1-2 pm, the yoga class will be conducted by our fantastic and experienced instructor. If you are unable to perform certain moves, she can adapt elements of the routine to suit you. Please bring your own mat.
Between 2-3 pm, you will have the opportunity to speak with the yoga teacher, ask any questions you may have, and enjoy soup, sandwiches, and other refreshments.
Thursday 8th February, 1-3 pm:
Wellbeing Talk with Clinical Hypnotherapist and RTT Therapist followed by a Jewellery Making Workshop
Between 1-2 pm, Soraya Mansour, Clinical Hypnotherapist and RTT Therapist, will present a talk on self-love.
From 2-3 pm, the jewellery-making workshop will take place. However, crafting is not compulsory. If you simply wish to join us for a friendly chat, seek signposting support, and enjoy soup, sandwiches, or other refreshments, you are more than welcome.
Thursday 29th February, 1-3 pm:
Relaxing Head, Feet, and Hand Massages, Alongside NHS Health Checks.
Experienced reflexologists and a skilled hairdresser, each possessing a wealth of expertise, will provide massages alongside Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) health wellness checks.
- Health checks include:
- Blood pressure measurement
- Pulse check to detect Atrial Fibrillation
- Oxygen saturation check
- Diabetes risk assessment
- Weight management
- Dementia awareness
- COVID and flu promotion, with guidance and signposting to relevant pharmacies/GPs.

Thursdays 14, 21 & 28th March, 6-8 pm:
Self-Defence Training with Martial Arts Instructor
We'll kick off the session with refreshments before diving into self-defence training from 7 to 8 pm. Holly Foran, a martial arts instructor holding a 1st Degree Black Belt in Kickboxing and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, will guide the session. Lesson plans will be customised through discussions with attendees, taking into account their individual needs and abilities. No prior experience or equipment is required.
Come and improve your ability to defend yourself and enhance your fitness!
